Event partner Franciacorta will showcase wineries run by young entrepreneurs from the Brescia area

Milan, 15 March 2016 – Fratelli Rossetti is pleased to announce the launch of the New Artisan initiative, which will give up-and-coming talents the opportunity to showcase their skills in the boutique on Via Montenapoleone in Milan. In a series of monthly events, the scheme will tell the stories of creative figures who are building careers on their artistic capabilities by handcrafting items that are usually industrially produced, such as skateboards, lampshades, mobile phone covers and sunglasses.

Fratelli Rossetti aims to serve as a patron of new enterprises by providing a platform for alternative forms of expression and the production of unique items in dedicated installations.

“New Artisan is a project for professional creative talents who have rediscovered the value of handmade products and given a contemporary twist to them,” explained Luca Rossetti, the CEO of the company. “Through these emerging players, we want to promote our long-established values of craftsmanship, research and Italian-based production.”

Continuing an alliance built on exceptional Italian-made quality that began at Expo 2015, Fratelli Rossetti’s partner for the event is the Franciacorta Association. In keeping with the outlook of the initiative, Franciacorta will present wineries run by enterprising young figures who have chosen a career in the wine world.

There will be an event every month until the end of the year. Atypical is going to kicks things off on 15 March 2016, an independent brand that was launched in 2012. It is a specialist producer of high-quality, handmade skateboards. Its products are inspired by early skateboards from the 1960s and 1970s. They are handcrafted in Italy using solid wood selected from the very finest ash trees.Franciacorta wines by Vigna Dorata will be served at the evening event.

Next will be an event associated with the Milan Furniture Fair: on 14 April, the people at Servomuto will present their vintage lampshades with a contemporary flavour. They will be followed by Impagliando, which creates modern furnishings with ancient weaving techniques. Subsequently, it will be the turn of wooden eyewear by Rypson and mobile phone covers made of the same material by Wood’dMany more will follow… and everything will be strictly handmade!

Biondelli, Bosio, Castelveder, Gatti, Corte Fusia and Ronco Calino are just some of the wineries that will appear at the events. In addition, at every event the artist Chiara Foglieni will underline the synergy between the young artisans and the Franciacorta wineries by creating hand-painted magnums.

Fratelli Rossetti was founded in 1953 by the visionary genius Renzo Rossetti in Parabiago, just outside Milan. At the time, a national fashion industry was just beginning to develop in Italy. The company is now run by the brothers Diego, Luca and Dario from the second generation of the family. With their dedication and devotion, they have taken the company to its 60th anniversary and beyond, with a constant focus on quality at all times. Over the years, the brand has become synonymous with style in Italy and across the globe. It embodies the values of unparalleled craftsmanship.

The Franciacorta Association monitors and ensures compliance with the production regulations for Franciacorta, which became the first Italian wine made exclusively with secondary fermentation in the bottle to be awarded DOCG (Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin) labelling in 1995. The association is involved in a number of activities, including protection of the brand and the territory, enhancing the value of the products through ongoing work on the production rules and regulations, providing information for consumers, and promoting Franciacorta as the embodiment of a territory, a wine and a production method. The association was founded on 5 March 1990 and its current president is Vittorio Moretti. It represents 113 wineries and it is based in Erbusco, in the heart of the Franciacorta area.
