Fratelli Rossetti’s proposal for the next summer is aimed at an independent and aware woman, in search of the most authentic tenets of elegance. She is capable of femininity without taking herself too seriously, and indeed indulges in a touch of tongue-in-cheek spirit.
The slow-fashion philosophy permeates the entire collection: natural colours inspired by the earth, high quality materials and traditional workmanship techniques, the same used in over 60 years in the business, are the key features.
The source of inspiration is Fratelli Rossetti’s time-honoured archive, which provides crucial ideas. Here it is given a contemporary take which remains in keeping with the authentic DNA of the brand, which has long proven itself capable of combining innovation with tradition.
The highlights of the collection include the return of the Hobo, the “lace-up without laces” in a new range of colours geared towards understatement: navy, ivory and cord. Hot on the heels of the success notched up last season, it is also being reintroduced in a slipper version with giant tassels. As with its predecessor, the spirit is anti-conformist and versatile: thanks to the outside counter without reinforcement, it can be worn as a ballerina shoe or as a sabot. Flat and made in ultra-soft, glove-like leather, the Hobo is a shoe designed for those that want to feel feminine even without heels.
Chimera is made using materials from the company archive, and is an example of its ability to combine innovative products inspired by its history. Here, the opposites effect takes centre stage: contrasts in colours, leathers and silhouettes are all intentionally striking, to create an effect that is unusual but with a coherent look.
Tradition also lives on in the new editions of past models. Such is the case with the Brera, the first version of which dates back to the Sixties, when Renzo Rossetti introduced the legendary tasselled moccasin. Present in unexpected colours and materials, such as batik or weaving, the Brera still remains a product made by hand by the master artisans of Parabiago.
Last but not least, Fratelli Rossetti is renewing its partnership with Los Angeles designer George Esquivel. An encounter between two different stories that are brought together by a love of excellence and handmade goods. Two worlds that are far apart yet complementary, which together have breathed life into an authentic, up-to-date range, capable of combining the sunny, enterprising nature of California with the solidity and style of Italian tradition.
