Milan, September 2017 – Fratelli Rossetti presents a bow version of the “legendary” tassels. Introduced for the first time in the 1960s by Renzo Rossetti on the Brera loafers, it has become an icon of the brand.
An ironic fresh twist has been given to the tassels, which appear in different forms on the 5 designs in the women’s collection: there are several on the flat sandals; they come on top of a fringe on the plateau sandals, the slipper sandals and the slippers; and finally they are shaped liked a “bow” on the Oxford shoes. All of the shoes are made of soft, light materials such as suede and classic calfskin. They are ideally suited to the summer season.
The colour range is very broad, with pastel tones joined by brighter, stronger shades: orange, fuchsia and turquoise. All of the hues are highly evocative of the summer and they add a dash of vivacity to the new collection.
During Milan Fashion Week, the atmosphere at the presentation called to mind the pleasantly relaxing ambience of a beauty parlour. CC-Tapis 100% hand-knotted rugs by Patricia Urquiola were used for the occasion. The Spanish artist’s abstract graphics and the magazine holders by the Italian designer Pietro Russo helped to recreate the atmosphere of a 1950s salon.
Fratelli Rossetti was founded in 1953 by the visionary genius Renzo Rossetti in Parabiago, just outside Milan. At the time, a national fashion industry was just beginning to develop in Italy. The company is now run by the brothers Diego, Dario and Luca from the second generation of the family. With their dedication and devotion, they have taken the company to its 60th anniversary and beyond, with a constant focus on quality at all times. Over the years, the brand has become synonymous with style in Italy and across the globe. It embodies the values of unparalleled craftsmanship.
