January 2013 – Fratelli Rossetti presents the Winter Brera: the iconic loafer by Fratelli Rossetti in a new version with a natural latex sole.
Launched for the first time in the Sixties, each season sees the Brera take on a new guise whilst still maintaining its calling-card feature: the legendary tassels with which Renzo Rossetti wrote an important page in the history of Italian style.
This winter, Fratelli Rossetti is replacing the traditional leather sole with one in natural green or purple latex. Each sole is made by hand with a process that involves at least 20 stages. This results in a “bubble” structure with an infinite number of air cushions that act as shock absorbers, making the shoes comfortable, flexible and exceptionally soft. The sole is sewn onto the uppers and features a structure with internal grips that make the shoe suitable for any weather conditions.
The Winter Brera is made in a soft calfskin leather which undergoes special treatment: first it is washed to shrink the fibre and create an uneven effect, then it is hand buffed to highlight the natural shading of the leather.
It is available in classic black, ebony and chestnut, as well as brighter hues such as garnet, bottle, myrtle and navy blue.
In addition to the classic loafer, the Winter Brera is also available in the Beatle Boot version, with or without fur lining.
