In 2017, Fratelli Rossetti is presenting the international edition of New Artisan. Following its huge success in Milan, the project for fresh talents in the handmade world is stepping outside the city boundaries to travel to Fratelli Rossetti boutiques worldwide. The first scheduled stop is in Bologna (in the boutique at 4h Via Archiginnasio), with an event starring IRD’s handmade bicycles that will start at 6.00 pm on Wednesday 1 March.
New Artisan provides a platform for young entrepreneurs who have rediscovered the value of craftsmanship and made it one of their strong suits. A core theme at the majority of the events in 2017 will be sport in its many different forms, from cycling and skiing to surfing and tennis. It is a tribute to Fratelli Rossetti’s origins: Renzo Rossetti started out in the footwear world by making special shoes and boots for a range of activities, including cycling, hockey, boxing and skating. The events in the pipeline this year will take in cities such as Milan, New York, Rome, Venice, Brussels and Turin.
Fratelli Rossetti and Franciacorta will be working in partnership once again in 2017 to support and promote quintessential Italian excellence and quality. At every “New Artisan” event it will be possible to sample a different type of Franciacorta wine which has been selected to complement the characteristics of the artisans and the host city. For the bikes in Bologna, a gutsy, firm and sure-footed Dosaggio Zero has been selected.
IRD has been making fixed-gear bicycles to measure for almost a decade. Its creations are entirely made in Italy and it is renowned for its clean-cut lines, first-rate materials and exceptional professionalism. It has established a very wide network over the years and it now has a shop in China and an international racing team. Driven by great passion for the sport that stems from their home town of Modena, the team have achieved outstanding results and become leading names in the sport, including on the international criterium circuit.
