May - Fratelli Rossetti is opening the doors of its boutique on Madison Avenue for the New York stage of the New Artisan project: the US handmade brand Leather Head Sports will take centre stage on 9 May in an evening event dedicated to craftsmanship. The shop windows of the Milan-based brand will be filled with leather rugby, baseball, football and basketball balls, and the first Leather Head Sports football will be unveiled to mark the occasion.
Fratelli Rossetti is celebrating the New Artisan project and the event with its vintage-effect New York Special Edition men’s sneakers. Available in black or leather, they stand out as a result of their stitching inspired by sports accessories. Handmade in limited numbers, and on sale exclusively in the Madison Avenue boutique and in the online shop, the New York Special Edition is an essential purchase for those who want to make the most of the summer.
The New Artisan project, launched in 2016 in the boutique on Via Montenapoleone, offers opportunities to young entrepreneurs who have rediscovered the value of craftsmanship and made it their focus. Following its success last year, the project dedicated to new talent in the handmade sector is expanding beyond Milan to Fratelli Rossetti boutiques across the world.
The main theme for most of the 2017 events is sport, from cycling and skiing to surfing and tennis. This is in tribute to Fratelli Rossetti’s origins: Renzo Rossetti’s first moves in footwear involved creating technical shoes for various sports (cycling, hockey, boxing and skating). The cities with events planned for this year include Milan, New York, Venice, Brussels and Turin.
Fratelli Rossetti and Franciacorta have also renewed their partnership for 2017, working to support and promote Italian-made quality and excellence. A different type of Franciacorta will be available to taste at every New Artisan venue, with the style chosen to match the characteristics of the craftsmen and the host city. The Brut has been chosen for New York - a racy wine with good structure.

About Franciacorta
A single term that defines the territory, production method and the Italian wine region’s highly-regarded category of sparkling wine, Franciacorta’s award-winning wines are handcrafted in the “metodo classico" and were the first in Italy to receive the highest designation of quality, DOCG. The region features more than 100 wineries all with a strict minimum of 18-months bottle aging for wines that are complex and luxurious, and a shared respect for the historic and beautiful land with many wineries converting to organic methods. A long-standing favorite and travel destination of Italian tastemakers, fashionistas and celebrities, the region’s proximity to Milan has created a strong connection between Franciacorta and Italy’s fashion capital. As a result, Franciacorta is well known as the Official Wine of Milan Fashion Week. For more information please visit www.franciacorta.net.
