The Brera moccasin, a time-honoured icon for Fratelli Rossetti, is returning in an all-new version dedicated to the summer, with a name which is also inspired by the summer: Summer Brera.
Lightened volumes, the absence of a welt and a thinner sole define this new model, which has maintained its key distinguishing feature: the legendary tassels with which Renzo Rossetti wrote an important page in the history of Italian costume.
Brera was the first model of the “Icone” project conceived in 2009, which sees a reworking of legendary models from the Fratelli Rossetti museum.
In fact it was the Sixties when Renzo, founder of Fratelli Rossetti, first introduced the tassels which he liked to call “fiocchetti”. It was a fully-fledged revolution in an Italy that was still austere, and not yet partial to accessories. An Italy in which essentialness was the day-to-day way of life, not a trend.
Summer Brera is being presented at the 82nd edition of Pitti Uomo in a number of different leathers.
The most interesting ones include hand-brushed calfskin, involving a technique that highlights the natural light and dark patches of the leather. It will be available in dark brown, anthracite, yellow and green.
Also of note is the version in soft nappa processed with the Toledo technique, which involves applying the colour directly onto the uppers. The “Toledo” colours include grape, ottanium and ruby.
